Introduction to ASL Workshop
Uncover the elegance of American Sign Language (ASL) by joining our Introduction to ASL Workshop series.
This intensive 1 day, 3-hour workshop welcomes true beginners to the craft. The curriculum focuses on foundational signs and elementary structure to ensure you start your signing journey with confidence and clarity.
Our programming is adaptable to unique requirements; specifically for individuals managing hearing changes, those with speech challenges, or neurodivergent learners. We facilitate both private mentoring and community workshops.
General Interest Course 1
Take the next step with our General Interest 1 Course here at Handy Conversations. GIC1 is perfect for those who have successfully completed our Introduction to ASL Workshop and who are eager to broaden their signing skills.
This 4-week module thrives in a collaborative atmosphere, nurturing a lively and interactive space for practicing and building on your sign.
Connect with us to grow your expressive skills and build real, meaningful connections with loved ones and the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, all while enjoying the expression of signing.
General Interest Course 2
This 6‑week program builds naturally on the foundations established in GIC1. In keeping with our philosophy, this level thrives in a social cohort where learners can grow together. If your goal is to strengthen your fluency, we’ll tailor focused exercises to support your individual progress. We’re excited to continue supporting your journey as you deepen your skills and explore the vibrant world of ASL.
Please note: spaces are limited for each session, so early registration is recommended. “Solo Bookings” allow individuals to reserve a class time slot; however, these sessions are not private, and other participants may book and attend the same time slot.
